Never-ending game

Every organisation is home to certain fundamental but unconscious attitudes, ‘ways of being’, that direct and restrict thinking and acting. “We are the best” or “mistakes are not permitted” are among the most frequent. Such fundamental attitudes stand in the way of objective perception and the exploration of new avenues.

As long as the system of fundamental attitudes remains undisturbed the organisation will keep repeating itself: it is a ‘never-ending game’. This ‘game’ incorporates underlying, unconscious aspects of a power game. The first step towards effective entrepreneurship is to become aware of existing fundamental attitudes. At the organisational, team or individual levels insight into fundamental attitudes creates the possibility for change and renewal, and for effective leadership with visible results.
